Installation Instructions

Vegetables and plants

Remove all weed or pointy objects from soil before installation of fabric. Rake if necessary.

Roll out the fabric over the desired area. For large areas, use a minimum overlap of 5cm to prevent weed growth along the edges – use staples or pegs to hold the pieces together.

For new crops, use scissors or knife to create an X-cut at the desired planting position. For already existing crops, cut vertically to the desired length and apply fabric close to the root.

Cover fabric with a minimum of 5cm of mulch to ensure longer product life.

Liners for pots & window boxes

Cut fabric to required size and place at the base of pots/window boxes before filling with planting soil.

Driveways and Patios

Dig out between 10 to 30cm of top soil depending of the type of pavement used.

Level soil to the required slope and then compact. Unroll the geotextile on top of the soil overlapping the edges a minimum of 20 cm. Use pegs to hold the pieces together if necessary.

Spread a minimum of 5cm sand layer over the fabric. Place the paving stones on top of the sand and adjust in place using a rubber mallet.

FAQs

Are Terrahome products aimed at professionals only?

No, quite the opposite: Terrahome products are aimed at non-professionals who love their homes and feel like improving their everyday life and environment using their own hands. No doubt that professionals can use Terrahome family of products too, but in small scale projects (due to their dimensions). For professional use in large scale projects, please contact Thrace Group.

How easy is it to install Terrahome products?

All Terrahome products come with detailed installation guidelines that direct you step by step on how to apply fabrics for ideal results. The only product that needs professional advice is Terrahome Reinforce.

Are Terrahome products environmentally friendly?

The answer is 100% YES. All Terrahome fabrics are produced exclusively from polypropylene and polyethylene, which are 100% recyclable. Moreover, there are no chemical substances included in their manufacturing process.

Which side of the fabrics should I use facing up?

In most Terrahome products, both sides do the job equally. Only in the case of Terrahome Protect should you use the coated side facing the floor, to avoid fabric slippage.

What is the best period of the year to use Terrahome products?

Terrahome products as a whole can be used all year round. Some among them, however, aim at one season or another depending on their special features. Anti-freeze for instance should be used to protect flowers, trees and crops during wintertime and Terrahome Shade is to be used during periods of high sunlight.
